Miley Cyrus is reportedly going to star in the Lifetime and History Channel miniseries Bonnie & Clyde.
According to IndieWire, the project was eyeing Hilary Duff last year before going quiet. Now the former Disney star will play Bonnie in the upcoming miniseries, which will supposedly be four hours long.
The project is being produced by executive producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, the minds behind NBC’s drama series Smash, reported Complex.
Back when Duff was attached to the project, the original actress who played Bonnie in 1967, the unforgettable Faye Dunaway, said:
“Why couldn’t they cast a real actress?” Ouch.
Supposedly, Duff was paid $100,000 to walk away from the role when she got pregnant in 2009.
Similarly, Lindsay Lohan will star in Liz & Dick where she will play Elizabeth Taylor.
Cyrus recently made headlines for a shocking new hairdo.
History recently found success with Hatfields & McCoys, which walked away with a few Emmys last weekend.
No word yet on when the new Bonnie & Clyde miniseries will be coming to TV.
