Metamorphosis - August 26, 2003
1. Why Not - March 2003
- It was released for TLMM. It worked perfectly.
2. So Yesterday - July 2003
- I never liked this song very much, but it was the right first single. No complaints.
3. Come Clean - December 2003
- AMAZING second single. It's her highest peaking, but I DO think they released it a TAD late.
4. Little Voice - May 2004
- Part of a Double A-Side strategy in the US, in late April. This single should have been released to sustain album sales & push it over 4 mil. It'd have been the final single from "Metamorphosis" in the US.
5. Where Did I Go Right (AUS) - May 2004
- Australia was one of her biggest markets at the time & they got LV originally, but I'd have gone with WDIGR. Both this & LV would have gotten professional music videos.
A Cinderella Story Soundtrack - July 13, 2004
1. Our Lips Are Sealed - May 2004
- The second part of the Double A-Side strategy in the US. This would not have gone for radio adds, but simply have been used to help "A Cinderella Story." The music video would have been the same, but MTV would have had the choice to play this or "Little Voice."
Hilary Duff - November 2, 2004
1. Fly - September 2004
- Research shows that her radio airplay took a plunge with the release of OLAS. I think this song would have done fine had it been coming off a bigger hit. The album still sold 1.8 million on the strength of this single & Hilary's fanbase alone. I wouldn't have gone any other way.
2. The Getaway - January 2005
- Much like "Come Clean," this would have been the PERFECT second single. Radio friendly in every way, the song had huge potential to have been a enormous hit.
3. Do You Want Me - May 2005
- This would have been a slightly riskier choice, but I think it would have broadened her fanbase & certainly have been a good summer single. It could have been the beginning of her evolvement into a sexier image. I'd have released it at the very end of May, as "The Getaway" would surely have been peaking or had peaked by then.
4. I Am (Disney) - May 2005
- "Do You Want Me" clearly would not have been right for some of her demographic. This would have been a great substitution. Both this & DYWM would have been released simultaneously.
5. Hide Away (US only) - October 2005
- Good way to close the album. End with a ballad & perform at radio shows, etc. It would have also shown a different side of Hilary as it'd have been the first ballad she'd released in her career.
6. Weird (WW) - October 2005
- "Hide Away" probably wouldn't have made any impact whatsoever across the world, so "Weird" would have been a good choice IMO.
Most Wanted: The EP - May 16, 2006 (Walmart release), November 7, 2006 (Wide release)
1. Wake Up - April 2006
- While I always liked this song a lot, I didn't love it. But it did do very well worldwide.
2. Break My Heart - July 2006
- I would have released this at the very end of July. She'd have performed this at the TCA's & other summer events.
3. Supergirl - December 2006
- Very beginning of December. Final single off the EP.
The way I'd have gone about this EP's release was sell it for 7.99 at Walmart exclusively at the beginning of it's release. Do the same massive promotional campaign as the original "Most Wanted" had. It would have been an 8 track EP which contained 6 brand new Hilary songs & 2 remixes. Because of what most likely would have been a massive success, the EP would have gotten a full release at every store in early November. Hilary would have shot the music video for "Supergirl" early in October, but only a small :15 preview would air on Disney Channel & other stations advertising the EP's full release.
Dignity - October 16, 2007
1. Play With Fire - May 2007
- I'd have kept this as the promo/heater single. It was a good transitioning point IMO, but they needed to support it a bit more.
2. With Love - August 2007
- Late August release with the same good radio campaign as what did happen.
3. Dignity - January 2008
- In an effort to cause some controversy, they would have released this to begin the new year with scandalous shots of Hilary behaving badly.

4. Danger (EUR) - January 2008
- Overseas, this would have been released as the stars "Dignity" would have been taking a dig at, aren't as relevant in Europe. A very sexy provocative Hilary would lead her to a larger adult following in this continent.
5. Gypsy Woman - May 2008
- This video would have been less about being sexy, & more Hilary's meaningful message coming across in a stunningly shot video, where Hilary plays the role of both the mistress & the woman being cheated on. A very dark video, with a massive radio campaign in mid May to early July.
6. Happy - October 2008
- Released in mid October due to the success of "Gypsy Woman," this would have been the perfect winter single with a very chaotic video of Hilary caught in the midst of a horrible storm, while attempting to prove to her ex that she's over him. This would have brought back the sexiness, but overall have been relevant to the song.
Dignity 2 - April 21, 2009
1. Reach Out - March 2009
- The not as overprocessed version would have been released & sent for radio adds in early March. The video would have been completely different & Hilary would have had to do a lot of dancing.
2. Holiday - July 2009
- In mid July this would have gone for adds & would have been used for many different products.
3. Burned (Remix) - December 2009
- The remix, in the form of a ballad would be the final single from the "Dignity" & "Dignity 2" era. It'd have been released early this month.
Other than the single releases, this would have been the only era she didn't tour with. She'd have "focused" more on her acting career, while only doing music videos & couple of radio interviews for each of this single. Basically, she'd be where she's at now, except having done better movie roles this year. As for a new album, she'd be signed to a new label by now but wouldn't start working on the album until after she filmed B&C, AGE & a mainstream film.
